Ruben Rodriguez Red Mexican Pot - Signed

Ruben Rodriguez is known for finely made black-on-black pottery. His highly polished, round vessels often feature raised tops with square or rectangular openings, and are finished with precise, intricate geometric designs scaled perfectly to each form.

He learned pottery from his younger brother Manuel (Manolo), who studied with Juan Quezada Sr., and developed his signature polishing technique from Gerardo Cota. His mirror-like finish comes from obsessive polishing—sometimes five passes—followed by matte black painting with crisp, exact angles.
