Lila Silveira is an award-winning potter from Mata Ortiz, Chihuahua, part of the contemporary Mata Ortiz/Casas Grandes ceramics movement. She learned the full traditional process directly from master potter Juan Quezada—hand-building with the coil method, burnishing, painting intricate flowing designs, and firing her work.
